Afghan Truck
The truck was carrying a repatriated family back to Afghanistan.

Landi Kotal — A conductor of truck burnt to death and two others sustained injuries when fire erupted after an accident in a vehicle carrying Afghanistan repatriating family near Michni checkpoint at Landi Kotal-Torkham road on Thursday.

Political Naib Tehsildar Shams-ul-Islam while sharing details of the road mishap said that the ill-fated truck bearing registration no. (KBL-877) loaded with repatriated family was on its way to Torkham border when the truck hit a hilly point of the roadside and turned over while negotiating a deadly curve.

Soon after the accident fire erupted in the truck that engulfed the whole vehicle in no time.

As result conductor of the truck, identified as Kamran s/o Said Rehman an Afghan national was killed while two members of the repatriated families known as driver Waris Khan s/o Khalid Khan and Habib Rehman s/o Said Rehman got injured who were shifted to Landi Kotal hospital where from they were referred to Peshawar hospital due to precarious condition, hospital sources informed.

The truck was completely destroyed while the loaded valuables of the repatriated family turned into ashes, the official said.
